Only as traffic approaches, Norway’s auto-dimming roads get brighter. New LED lights dim to 20 percent when no cars are in area. When a car drives by, the lights turn to 100 per cent. Thus it reduces the country’s carbon footprint.

I have a rail line right under my apartment, so I built a small computer vision app running on a Rasperry Pi which records each train passing, and tries to stitch an image of it.

…That means electric bicycles, which have become a much lower impact solution than cars, are booming in many Amish communities.

It’s a lot quicker to jump on your bike and go into town than it is to bring your horse into the barn, harness it to the buggy, and go. It’s a lot quicker and you travel faster too.
